I’ve been offering Mommy & Me Mini Sessions in Newburgh, Indiana for over a decade now. In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to spotlight some of the incredible mothers I had the opportunity to work with this year. They are all such amazing mamas and I wanted to share their advice and insight into motherhood. Over the next 10 days I will be sharing a couple mothers, their images and their advice, every day on socials and the blog. My hope is that new and existing moms can either gather advice or feel a little less alone in this crazy thing called motherhood.
KELSEY

How many children do you have and what are their ages?
One child, 3-years-old
What is the best part of motherhood?
Watching my little girl grow into herself each day and reflecting on the beautiful gift that God has created and entrusted me to raise.
What is the hardest part about being a mother?
Mom guilt! Constantly asking yourself if you’re making the best decisions for your child, if you’re parenting the best you can. When you make a mistake and you’re guilting yourself immediately what you could’ve done differently.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received about parenting?
Give yourself grace.
If you could give a new mother one piece of advice, what would it be?
God chose you specifically for this rewarding and beautiful season of motherhood, he is always there and His plan is always perfect. During the good and hard times remember you were chosen.
AMY

How many children do you have and what are their ages?
One child, age 8
What is the best part of motherhood?
One of the best parts of motherhood is seeing the world through your child’s eyes as they experience things for the first time. It makes even everyday moments feel more special and reminds you how much there is to appreciate.
What is the hardest part about being a mother?
One of the hardest parts of motherhood is the guilt that comes when work or life pulls you away from your kids. You feel how quickly time is passing—while it’s rewarding to watch them grow, it’s also hard knowing those years don’t slow down.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received about parenting?
It’s ok if your house isn’t immaculate and tidy. Leave the toys, because once day they won’t be there to trip over, and you’ll miss it.
If you could give a new mother one piece of advice, what would it be?
Motherhood isn’t meant to be carried alone—asking for help doesn’t make you weak, it helps you show up as your best self. You don’t have to do everything to be a good mom; letting others support you is part of what makes you strong.
