Parker | Newburgh IN Newborn Photographer

I’ve been following this mama for a while now on social media because she is a small business owner, as well. I love myself a boss mom and hustler and she is definitely that. Balancing motherhood and work is no small task and this mama seems to do it with such grace and patience.

Not only was I excited to meet mama, but I was excited to meet big sister, Chandler, and see how she liked little sister. She wasn’t quite sure she wanted to lie down and hold Parker (which is totally normal for such a little one), but she clearly adored her baby sister. She gave her kisses and hugs and it melted my heart. Seeing sisters this small is so special to me. I know what the future has in store for them. I know the blessing that a sister is. And I feel super lucky to be the first person to capture this relationship.

My sister and I are 15 months apart and we have a fantastic relationship. She’s one of my best friends. She now lives hours away, but I feel like we’re closer now than we were when we were younger, living in the same house.

Sisterhood (or family relationships in general) are so complicated. They are our closes bonds and they are a huge part of our life story and who we are, but they can also be something that causes us such pain and resentment. I have been thoroughly blessed with a family that has, for the most part, lacked the latter. However, growing up, that didn’t mean we didn’t have the typical sister dynamic. We fought and bickered and drove our parents crazy. I didn’t want her hanging out with my friends and she didn’t want me leaving her out. We were competitive and, at times, unkind to one another. But, if anyone messed with my sister, I was the first to have her back (and same with her). Like I said, it’s a complicated dynamic.

My sister has taught me to be a better mother. A better friend – she’s one of the best you’ll find. A more fashion-minded woman – the girl’s closet is every woman’s dream. I’ve gained the confidence to speak my mind more simply by watching her and the way she takes charge. She has taught me so much.

Seeing sisters like Chandler and Parker in the early days of their relationship makes me so excited for them and all the experiences they’ll have together. A sister is an irreplaceable gift and they are so lucky to have one another.

I’m excited for you all to take a peak into Parker’s session!
