When Alex contacted me months ago to book her newborn session, I did a little happy dance. I’ve stalked this beautiful woman and her daughter on social media for years – not in a “she needs to get a restraining order” – type of way. I knew of Alex through my friend and hairdresser, Ellie (If you don’t follow her, you should, @ellieschmitthair. She’s an inspiration to me. A 22-year-old boss babe who is making waves and doing big things.) Alex is her cousin and I knew I would like her because Ellie had told me all about her over the years. But she far outdid my expectations.
Alex is a hands-on mom, hairdresser and all around amazing woman. She is one of those girls you meet and you instantly want to be friends with her. She is so friendly and funny and seeing her with her older daughter, Lola, is honestly one of the most precious things ever. It is so obvious that Alex and her husband (who is also named Alex) are wonderful parents simply by the way Lola behaves. This little girl sat in my studio for hours without ever complaining. She would come over every once in a while and quietly check on her baby brother. She’d watch me work with her baby brother and chat with me and tell me about her interests and say the cutest, funniest things ever. AND she brought an entire Kaboodle (anyone else remember Kaboodles? Anyone else an 80s kid who had a Kaboodle?) full of makeup. She then proceeded to show me how to apply makeup based off of the things she’d learned on her YouTube Kids makeup tutorials. No joke, the kid is better at make-up than me!
As if that wasn’t enough, a super cool mom and a perfect big sister, sweet Sloane was absolutely perfect! He was so beautiful and sweet and he slept like a champ! I’m so excited for you all to have a peek into his session!
