CALLIE – Evansville, IN Newborn Photographer
One of the really cool things about working with different people every single day is that I get to learn about all sorts of interesting, talented and intriguing people. I get to learn about their lives, hear their stories, share their concerns and laugh at all of the new aspects of their lives as new parents (for instance, you likely never thought your day would involve so much poop and spit up).
One of the other really cool things about meeting all these new people is hearing about their jobs. I love hearing about what they do for a living and all the interesting things their jobs entail. I’ve always been one of those people who is really interested in jobs and learning what people do. It intrigues me. I’m a weird duck that actually likes work and the menial tasks that come with it. Excel spreadsheets, workflow charts, budgeting – those are my jam. So, naturally, hearing about how other people work is fun for me.
What some of you may not know is that I have a degree from Purdue University is Communications and Advertising. I took lots of marketing and advertising courses at Purdue and find it to be extremely interesting field. Sweet little Callie’s dad works in marketing and his company works a lot with the pharmaceutical industry. His job involves testing/researching the effectiveness of pharmaceutical marketing. You know all those drug commercials that have the smiling husband and wife and they’re all doing those fun activities? Part of his job is testing the effectiveness of those. I know I may be in the minority, but I think that would be so darn interesting.
While talking with him I learned about what he does and a few interesting facts about his job. One of the most interesting facts I learned had to do with dogs in pharmaceutical commercials. If you think back to all the drug commercials and advertisements you’ve seen, you likely will recall that there is a dog in just about every single one. Well, come to find out, research shows that these ads are more effective if that dog is in the ad. It may be useless information for me to have, but I still find it interesting!
So, not only do I get to work with these beautiful little babies, but I also get to learn about all these cool occupations! Feel free to comment below with interesting facts about your job! I would LOVE to hear!!
