Newburgh Family Photographer | Evansville Family Photographer
Newburgh Family Photographer has been my job description for almost nine years now. When people used to ask what I did for a living, I shied away from telling them what I did because it always resulted in, “Oh, my niece/wife/daughter does photography, too.” or “I’m a photographer, too. I just got a camera and I’ve been taking my friends’ kids’ photos.” No one took me seriously and just assumed it was hobby.
Now, so many years later, I will proudly say that I’m a newborn and family photographer. I’ve built a business I’m proud of and I’ve worked so dang hard to prove myself. But, with all that is going on in the world right now with COVID-19, I think my job is more important than ever. It’s far more than a hobby or a job.
Right now we can’t leave our homes. We can’t go anywhere but the grocery store. We can’t go on vacation or create memories in that way. We feel stuck. We feel imprisoned. We are scared and we are starting to wonder if this will ever end. Will life ever go back to the way it was?
I keep looking back at old photos of happier times – of times when things were joyous and exciting and we had so much to look forward to. I look at these images and there was so much happiness. Now, more than ever, I treasure my photos like crazy. Looking at my photos of my family reminds me that this will end. It may take months, but it will end and we will be able to celebrate and be joyous. For now, I, and I hope my clients, too, are looking at their photos thankful for the reminder of happier times and hope for the future.
