I love learning about other people. I love hearing their stories. Understanding what makes them who they are. Because newborn sessions last anywhere from 1.5 hours to 4 hours and because I have a small, intimate studio, I get to talk to my clients a lot. I get to hear their stories. I think it is what makes me so close to and so invested in my clients.
While learning these amazing parents’ story I learned that they were high school sweethearts. They grew up down the street from one another in Evansville. She is a kindergarten teacher and he is a sheriff. So basically they are the most patient and generous people ever. And, they have a really cool name story for their son. Mark told Lindsay years ago that he was going to name his future son Milo. He then told me the story of Milo of Croton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_of_Croton).
These two were complete strangers when they walked into my studio, but they walked out friends. It has been months since I did this session, I’ve done a family session for them since then and in those months, Lindsay and I have stayed in touch and have become friends. I look forward to her posts on Instagram. I love seeing Milo grow and her blossom as a mother! I love seeing their story continue to unfold!
